Have you ever taken a shower for too long? It feels good and you almost want to test the limits of your strength, seeing how long you can stand it, how far you can go. But after it's over, you're drained and you feel a little crazy. Not crazy in a cool, I just drove 75 down Olympic with the top down, way. Crazy in the I'm exhausted but I can't stop punching my fist into the wall cause it stops the ringing in my ears, way. It weakens you, but you're not regretful, just confused on where you should have stopped.
I just got done reading "Running with Scissors." This is how I feel. I almost imagine this is how Augusten felt after writing it or living it, even.
