Reasons I love the rain:
1. It washes my car, for free.
2. Ominous, gray mountains of cloud are infinitely cooler than fluffy white wisps.
3. Beads of moisture falling in my hair, my eyes, my cheeks... it's as close to Catholic redemption as I'll ever feel.
4. You can always blame it on the rain.
5. After all the sunshine in So Cal, a little rain makes us sane again.
6. My skin feels softer from all the water.
7. Curling up with a book and a hot chocolate.
8. Slick spots on the pavement and asphalt have oily rainbows.
9. Sound of rain as you're falling asleep when it's real and spontaneous? Like a drug. Totally addictive but your dealer is very selective.
10. When you've been searching for a moment to wallow in self pity, nothing is a clearer sign of welcome than a sloshy day of precipitation.
Bring on the rain.
(That is, until it starts feeling mildewy and soggy, and the world smells like earthworms. Then "rain, rain, go away")
