I'm very irritated by the curiosity burgeoning around me.
I'm a private person, mostly, and I don't like it when strangers think they can "chum it up" with me. You have to earn the privilege/burden of getting to know me.
Why am I so negative? I'm not sure. Perhaps I'm absorbing it. I'd like to correct the imbalance.
Besides which, I've got good stuff coming up (I'm going to be a mother!) and I'd like to enjoy them without being concerned about other people's jaded opinions bringing me down. The thing being, criticism falls off my back like oil on water until it's from someone I care about. Then, I hurt. No big surprise there.
I'm trying to be a stronger individual but not lose the basic love of people I had as a child. Why is the only way to feel stronger to be harder?
