Food For Thought!

Monday, June 21, 2004
I'm graduated...again! My grade for ETHN 101 was a fail and I was having a small freak-out (alright, let's be honest- it was on global scale.) So I did my classic Grace-is-going-insane-no-one-is-safe-watch-the-eyes move on Professor Katynka Zazueta Martinez. She has the gall to reply that I didn't take the quiz OR turn in a paper.

Now, I realize not many people were around this time to see my hard work. But I deliberately took the quiz early even in order to attend my theatre graduation that same day. And after walking across the Mandeville stage and taking my fake diploma, I took the shuttle TO class in case we had lecture after the quiz. We didn't, but you see the devotion?? Eugene and I spent all night before, copying papers, reading articles, and pummeling each other with questions. So, okay, I did most of that, but he was witness to my anxious need to pass this class.

Then, the paper. Eugene, Barsi, Richard, and I ALL watched Bamboozled together and we discussed until our eyes bled. And I did nothing but work on that for the rest of the quarter, since I had no other finals.

The woman was in for a bruisin'. Finally, she discovers my paper and quiz, graded but lost. I ended up with a B- in the class. I think for her fuck up, I deserve at least a solid B, if not an A-.

*Sigh.*

By the way, this gem from a phone conversation last night:

"What?? Tibet thinks I'm gay?!" (Beat that, Jeremy!)

Also, I gotta say- L.A. men are certainly appreciative when it comes to wooing gals. They go that extra mile.

Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where's the street-wise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?
Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and turn and dream
of what I need

[Chorus]

I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be soon

And he's gotta be larger than life

Somewhere after midnight
In my wildest fantasy
Somewhere just beyond my reach
There's someone reaching back for me

Racing on the thunder end rising with the heat
It's gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet

[Chorus]

Up where the mountains meet the heavens above
Out where the lightning splits the sea
I would swear that there's someone somewhere
Watching me

Through the wind end the chill and the rain
And the storm and the flood
I can feel his approach
Like the fire in my blood
